Fair Engineering LLC started as an idea based around simplicity. Nick Fairhurst, our founder and CEO has close to a decade of permitting and engineering experience at various firms in the industry. Over his time in countless roles and companies, he realized one overarching pattern. Construction engineering is often highly disorganized and inefficient. Data collected can be untrustworthy and it has poor retention over time, communication can be unclear, and inherent bureaucracy breeds inefficiency. The gap between the people winning the work and the people doing the work would tend to grow too large to a point where the companies didn’t know what they were actually capable of and knew even less of how to bill for it.
It’s a difficult problem to be fair, construction has tons of inconsistent variables that drive your focus towards the problem in front of you. Its easy to let complicated processes and future foresight slip away. This is where the idea of simplicity came in.
Nick realized that many of the standards he and his coworkers were striving to adhere to were only to satisfy the client and the reviewing entity didn’t care about them. He also realized the price of the services didn’t match the level of effort. Honest and transparent communication was nowhere to be found; both internally as well as with the client. Fixing this has become our purpose. Fair Engineering strives to provide efficient quality services while avoiding these toxic pitfalls and helping others do the same.
The “Fair” in our name represents a promise to ourselves and to others that we will operate in an honorable manner. We are fair to our clients, our partners, and most of all our employees. Hard work and good processes that get results are rewarded handsomely. Professional respect and transparency are the best ways toward sustainable growth into the future.
Our Mission is to grow Fair’s services and provide a one stop shop for all civil projects. One day, a developer will be able to come to Fair Engineering and be greeted with experienced professionals that can carry out the build from conception to construction.
